Anne Scott Harrity, 81, of Worcester, died on January 17, 2022 at Rose Monahan Hospice House in Worcester. She was the youngest child of Peter J. Harrity and Anne (Egan) Harrity originally of Derrygarrow, County Mayo, Ireland. Anne’s five older brothers watched over her throughout her life. She lived with her father Peter until his death at age 99. She was predeceased by her brothers Raymond, Peter, Edward, James and Martin and sisters-in-law Rosemary, Beverly, Anne and Dianne. Anne is survived by her niece Ann-Marie Harrity Ryan and Robert (Bob) Ryan with whom she lived, sister-in-law Celine Harrity as well as a multitude of nieces, nephews, grand nieces, grand nephews, great grand nieces and nephews, cousins and friends.
Anne attended the Occupational Training Center program for many years. She then attended the Seven Hills program where she enjoyed socializing, arts and crafts and bowling. She loved going to the dances at Camp Joy, Holy Cross and the Seven Hills Christmas party. Anne loved celebrating her birthday more than anything. Tuesday night dinners with her brother Marty and his children and grandchildren were the highlight of her week as were the Sunday afternoons spent with her brother Peter and sister-in-law Celine. Friendly’s for lunch with sister-in-law Rosemary always delighted her as well as going to the Webster House with her brother Edward and sister-in-law Beverly. She loved the happy times spent at her brother James and sister-in-law Anne’s house in Priscilla Beach. She was loved by everyone. Her 27 nieces and nephews will always remember her beautiful blue eyes, lovely smile and signature peace sign for hello and goodbye.
Anne was cared for by many loving people. Her family will be forever grateful to the UMass Memorial Hospice Visiting Nurses and Elder Services. Anne Scott loved her visiting aide Tiffany who she always called “Vanessa”. Her visiting nurse Mandy gave her wonderful care. Anne was very fortunate to have Christine MacGinnis as her doctor for many years.
Her calling hour will be held on Monday, January 31st at 10:00am followed by her funeral Mass at 11:00am in Blessed Sacrament Church, 551 Pleasant Street. Burial will follow at St. John’s Cemetery.
