Jorgjia (Laco) Andoni, 93, of Worcester, died, Tuesday, January 25th in Holy Trinity Nursing and Rehabilitation Center, Her husband of 56 years, Sotir Andoni died in 2003. She is survived by her two sons, Piro Andoni and his wife, Marjana of Worcester and Maqo Andoni and his wife, Natasha of Korca, Albania; and her daughter, Fanika Kote and her husband, Edmond of Worcester; five grandchildren, Genti, Dorian and David Andoni, and Kristi and Pamela Kote and 5 great-grandchildren, Rey, Tyler, Joria, Adrianne and Greta. She was predeceased by her brother, Teodor Laco.
She was born in Dardha, Albania the daughter of Pandi and Athina (Isak) Laco. Jorgjia was a member of St. Mary's Assumption Albanian Orthodox Church and enjoyed cooking and gardening. Her greatest joy was time spent with her family, especially her grandchildren and great-grandchildren, and will sorely be missed by all who knew and loved her.
Her funeral is Tuesday, February 1st, with a service at 11:00 a.m. in St. Mary's Assumption Albanian Orthodox Church, 525 Salisbury Street. Burial will follow in Hope Cemetery. A visitation will be held Tuesday morning from 10:00 a.m. until the time of the service in the church. O'CONNOR BROTHERS FUNERAL HOME is assisting the family with arrangements.
