Grover O. Jarchow, 86, of Fitzgerald, Georgia, died Tuesday, April 25, 2006 at the Irwin County Hospital.
Funeral services will be held 11:00 A.M., Thursday, April 27, 2006, at Mt. Zion Missionary Baptist Church in Wilcox County, with Rev. Ronny Griner, Rev. Tom Stone and Rev. Rex Johnson officiating. Interment will follow in the church cemetery. Visitation will be held from 7 until 9, Wednesday evening at the funeral home.
Mr. Jarchow was born February 27, 1920, in Irwin County Georgia, to the late Willheim and Lottie Benzing Jarchow. He lived in the community most of his life. Mr. Jarchow was a former employee of United Farm Tools, Rainbow Irrigation Systems, Ben Hill County Road Department and the Fitzgerald Cotton Mill. He attended Mt. Zion Missionary Baptist Church.
Mr. Jarchow is survived by his two sons and daughters-in-law: Orvis & Ginger Jarchow and Dewey & Robin Jarchow, all of Fitzgerald; 1 grandson: Chris Jarchow and 4 great-grandchildren; sisters: Iona J. Hood of Wilcox County and Charlotte J. Drexler of Fitzgerald; several nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his wife, Edna Elizabeth Miller Jarchow.
