Stephen Lewis Maddox, 66, of Santa Paula, CA, passed away January 17, 2022 in Santa Paula.
Steve was born on the island of Guam to William (Bill) and Clara Maddox on May 9, 1955.
Steve grew up in Oxnard and attended Rio Mesa High school, graduating in 1973. Steve attended Arizona Automotive Institute and began his career at Jack Barnes Pontiac, but eventually opened his own shop. Steve’s Honda was a staple in El Rio for over 40 years.
From childhood, Steve loved dirt bike riding and boating. He passed that love and pastime to his family and many weekends and family vacations were spent with friends riding bikes on the off-road trails or on his boat at lakes across California. Steve particularly loved riding his Harley, and found great joy doing so alongside his wife. He enjoyed watching football, (go Raiders), and attending NASCAR races (he was a loyal Kyle Busch fan!). More than anything, Steve loved sharing his hobbies with his wife and children.
Steve is survived by his; wife, Allison Maddox of Santa Paula; daughter Stephanie and and husband Ben Geist of Oregon and grandchildren, Lydia, Evelyn and Josiah; son Tim Maddox of California; sister Diana and husband Larry Gunn of Oregon; and niece Nyssa, and nephew Matt also of Oregon; Miguel and Susanne Turrion of Luxembourg; Carolina Turrion Eichler of London, UK and Felix Turrion Eichler of Luxembourg; niece Kristine Burnett of Arizona and niece Riley and nephew Hudson; and Donna and Wayne Maddox of Illinois; Bryan and Nancy Bevans of Ojai; along with many friends.
Steve was preceded in death by his father William Stephenson Maddox, mother Clara Mae (Lewis) Maddox, and brother David Lynn Maddox.
The Family wishes to extend their gratitude to the UCLA Pfleger Liver Institute, Assisted Hospice Care, and the numerous caring doctors and nurses.
In lieu of flowers, the family asks that Steve's friends give to a charitable organization of their choosing.
Arrangements are under the direction of the JOSEPH P. REARDON FUNERAL HOME & CREMATION SERVICE, Ventura.
