After a life filled with love, family and friends, Richard Cocchi passed away on January 15, 2022, at the age of 74. He was born in East Boston, Massachusetts on September 1, 1947, he was the beloved son of the late Aldo and Alice Cocchi. Although, he grew up in Canton, Massachusetts.
At the time of his passing he resided in Saugus, Massachusetts with family. Richard retired after over 40+ years as a longshoreman. In his younger years he was an avid bowler and an exceptional billiard player. He enjoyed cooking his favorite Italian foods, trips to Foxwoods and his ultimate passion was to watch all Boston sports teams with his beloved son, Richie. There was not a day that he was not wearing his favorite team’s apparel in a show of support for their next “big” win.
He is survived by his three children: Richard “Richie” Cocchi, Donna Cocchi and her fiancé Stephen, Dara Cocchi and her significant other Mark. He is also survived by his grandchildren; Brianna DiPaolo and her fiancé Brendan, Dario Cocchi, Santino “Junior” DiPaolo, Rich Cocchi and Justin Cocchi Disciscio
Richard was the youngest brother of six, siblings include Robert “Bobby” Cocchi and wife Paula, the late John “Jack” Cocchi and late wife Isabell, the late Joseph Cocchi and wife Jane, the late William “Bill” Cocchi and the late Paul Cocchi. He is also survived by his many nieces and nephews.
Visitation will be held at A. J. Spadafora Funeral home, 865 Main Street, Malden on Monday, February 7th from 4-8PM. Relatives and friends are respectfully invited to attend. A ceremony will be held at 7:30pm at the funeral home following the visitation. Interment will be private
