Obituary

MOORADIAN, Agnes Marie (Grenier) Of Wellesley, January 24, 2022. Beloved wife of the late Moorad Mooradian. Devoted mother of Mary Ann of Wellesley, Mark and his wife Denise of San Diego, CA, John of Natick, and Michael of Holliston. Grandmother of Mark Jr., Matthew, and Emily. Sister of the late Paul Grenier.

Agnes Marie was born April 1, 1925 to Blanche and Arthur Grenier, and grew up in Uxbridge. Marie (she preferred using her middle name) graduated from Uxbridge High School and worked for several years in the offices of White’s Manufacturing in Whitinsville. Marie and Moorad were married in 1952, and raised a family, residing in Lynn. In 1972, the family moved to Wellesley and became congregants of St. Paul’s Parish. The children attended Wellesley Public schools. After grieving over the sudden passing of her husband in 1978, Marie re-entered the workforce. She held Administrative roles in several local companies and organizations. She attended night school while working and received an Associate’s Degree from M.B.C.C. Marie was elected valedictorian of her graduating class. She retired from working (at I.C.T.A.) at age 65.

During her retirement years, Marie travelled extensively, including trips to: France, Greece, Ireland, Italy, and Japan; as well as numerous trips within the United States. She loved to visit her grandchildren in California (known affectionately as Grandma or GrandMa Rie). In addition to travelling, she enjoyed playing bridge, bird watching, golf (was a member of Nehoiden golf club for several years), billiards, and dining out. She loved hosting Thanksgiving dinner at her home, with all the relatives and their children. She was always very welcoming to friends and family for a visit anytime (and a glass of wine). Marie enjoyed her regular walks for exercise, either around the neighborhood, around Lake Waban, or at the Audubon bird sanctuary.

In her later years, she especially enjoyed her trips to Cold Spring Park, Cutler Park, the Natick Mall, Savers, and nearby restaurants. Although dearly missing her husband and closest friends who had predeceased her, she maintained a positive spirit. She was very self-reliant and with the help of family members, lived in her house in Wellesley to an advanced age, all the while maintaining her sharp wit.

Marie passed away unexpectedly from complications arising after suffering a fall at her home. Unable to recover fully, she was surrounded by loving family members at her bedside upon her departure from this earthly realm. She will be greatly missed. Donations in Marie’s memory may be made to: St. Paul’s Church, 502 Washington Street, Wellesley, MA 02482.
