Mary Kathleen (McGoniagle) Mansfield, a resident of Lynn for over 45 years and formerly of Charlestown, entered into eternal life on Sunday, January 23, 2022 at The Atria-Maplewood Place in Malden. She was 82 years of age.
Mary was born in Boston on November 21, 1939, a daughter of the late Patrick McGoniagle and Mary (Geary) McGoniagle. She grew up in Charlestown where she was educated at St. Mary's Parochial School and graduated from St. Clement High School in Somerville. Mary began working as an Assembler at General Electric in Lynn and retired as an Inspector following over 40 years of dedicated employment. In her spare time she enjoyed traveling to Ireland and England with family members.
Mary is the beloved wife of the late Lynn Firefighter James B. Mansfield. She is the devoted twin sister of William McGoniagle and beloved sister of Nancy Francini, Paul McGoniagle and the late James McGoniagle, John McGoniagle, Robert McGoniagle and Stephen McGoniagle. She is also survived by her many loving nieces and nephews.
Relatives and friends are invited to attend Mary's visiting hours on Monday morning, January 31, 2022 from 9 A.M. to 10:30 A.M. in The Carr Funeral Home 220 Bunker Hill St. Charlestown followed by her Funeral Mass in St. Francis De Sales Church, 313 Bunker Hill St. Charlestown at 11 A.M. (FACIAL COVERINGS ARE REQUIRED INSIDE CHURCH). Her burial will take place at Woodlawn Cemetery in Everett.
