Margaret Patricia (Grant) Casper – Died peacefully on January 15, 2022, at home after a long battle with Alzheimer’s disease. The family is ever grateful for all the support and many kindnesses received during her illness. A special thank you is due to Maria Liete for her constant and loyal assistance.
Pat is survived by her four children Narice, Christine, Michael and Bruce, two grandchildren Kathryn and Elizabeth (Robert) and three great grandchildren Isabel, Isaac and Abigail, her two sisters, Mary Keaveney, Helen Bellacqua (Steve) and sister-in-law Eleanor Harrington and 20 cherished nieces and nephews and many great nieces and nephews. Pat was preceded in death by her parents Francis and Bridget Grant, her husband of 54 years H. Lee, sister-in-law Narice, brother Francis, brother in-laws John Keaveney, Robert Casper, sister-in-law Anne Casper and nephew J Keaveney.
Pat was kind, gracious, modest, a good listener and always eager to learn. A graduate of Gate of Heaven High School, Regis College, Mass. Teachers College and Boston University. She taught Chemistry and Physics at King Phillip Regional High School and Mathematics at Northeastern University. She was a communicant at St. Theresa of the Child Jesus and taught catechism there for over 40 years.
Her passions included traveling and the Arts. She found beauty and wonder in shared experiences. She often gathered neighborhood children, friends and family for trips to Historical sites, Museums, Performing Arts venues and religious events. She knew these shared adventures helped ignite curiosity and stimulated personal growth. Growing up in the city she was always aware that not everyone has the same opportunities. She was always willing to help others discover the next steps in their journey. She genuinely believed with drive, perseverance and support anyone could achieve remarkable things. Her work ethic and generosity were boundless.
A funeral Mass and burial will be arranged by Casper’s Funeral Home of Boston, MA 02127. A celebration of her life will take place this summer.
