Marsha M. Hunt
Longtime Tewksbury Resident

TEWKSBURY: Marsha M. Hunt, age 84, a longtime Tewksbury resident, passed away at Lowell General Hospital Saints Campus on Monday, January 10, 2022.

She was born in Lowell on December 19, 1937, the daughter of the late Leo Hunt and the late Kathleen (Brooks) Hunt, and stepdaughter of the late Jacqueline Hunt.

Marsha attended Notre Dame Academy and graduated from Tewksbury High School. She went on to Merrimack College, where she studied electrical engineering.

In 1957, she enlisted in the U.S. Army and served in the Women’s Army Corps as a medical instructor under combat conditions.

Marsha worked as a private investigator for many years, working undercover and in department stores.
In addition, she spent many years running her Sumpter Farm greenhouse in Tewksbury and also worked as a cashier at Shell Oil in Burlington well in to her 80’s.

She was an avid animal lover and had raised several show horses.

Marsha was a member of the Red Cross and served in Mobile, Alabama after hurricane Katrina.

She was the sister of the late Leo Hunt and Kathleen Hunt Silk.

Marsha leaves behind many nieces, nephews, and friends.

Her funeral procession will begin at 11 a.m. on Friday, January 28th at the Farmer & Dee Funeral Home, 16 Lee Street, Tewksbury, followed by a graveside service at 11:30 a.m. at the Tewksbury Cemetery, 172 East Street, Tewksbury, MA. There are No Calling Hours. In lieu of flowers, donations in her memory may be made to the MSPCA-Nevins Farm, 400 Broadway, Methuen, MA 01844.
