Dorothy J. (Iritano) Candeliere passed away peacefully at the Robert Wood Johnson University Hospital of Hamilton, NJ on January 16th. She was 92 years old. Born and raised in East Boston, she was the daughter of the late Joseph and Anna (Fiantaca) Iritano. Dot settled in Medford with her family and lived there until her marriage, when she and her late husband Pat settled in New Jersey. Dot worked as a hairdresser throughout her life. She resided in Mount Holly and later in Bordentown, NJ. Dot and Pat had a wonderful life together. They enjoyed travelling and crafts. Dot loved her family and stayed close to everyone in the Boston area. She also enjoyed spending time with her many close friends in New Jersey.
The beloved wife of the late Pasquale “Sonny” “Pat” Candeliere who passed away in 2013, Dot was the dear sister Lorraine Manis of RI, Grace Iritano of Stoneham, and the late Phyllis Hoyt, Salvatore Iritano, and Catherine Capezzuto. Dorothy also leaves many loving nieces and nephews.
Relatives and friends are respectfully invited to visit at the Dello Russo Funeral Home, 306 Main St., Medford on Saturday morning, February 5th, from 9 – 10:30 AM followed by a funeral mass celebrated in St. Clement Church, 71 Warner Street, Medford, at 11 AM. Services will conclude with entombment at Holy Cross Cemetery, Chapel Hill Mausoleum.
