Elizabeth "Liz" Adams passed away in Ojai, CA on January 13, 2022. She would have been 101 years old on February 15th.
Liz was born in 1921 in Oxnard, CA to Mary and Michael Hartveld who immigrated from Holland. She was the youngest of three daughters (sisters; Christine "Chris" Rice and Jacoba "Coby" Haddox) and grew up on the historic Patterson Ranch, where her father was foreman.
She graduated from Oxnard High School in 1935 and later was employed at Pacific Naval Air Base, Port Hueneme, where she met Thomas Edward Adams whom she married in 1945.
Liz was a member of the St. Thomas Aquinas Church in Ojai, CA. She worked for many years as bookkeeper for Fuller Paint and Glass in Ventura, CA. She also enjoyed weekly card games with her friends, worked out at the gym, and went on daily walks into her 90s.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Tom (1993) and her son, Thomas Michael Adams (2007). She is survived by her children; Terri Maguire (George), Paulette Hall (Gary), Joanne Shoji (Kazuo), her grandchildren; Sara, Jasen, Kristie, Laura, Kyle, and her great-grandchildren; Katherine, Ethan, and William.
