Margaret M. "Peggy" (Calnen) Neary, 73, of Dartmouth passed away peacefully on Saturday, January 8, 2022. She was the wife of Howard Neary for over 50 years.
Born and raised in New Bedford, she was the daughter of the late John J. and Margaret T. (Feeney) Calnen. She lived in Maryland, North Carolina, and Delaware before moving back to Fairhaven in 2015.
Peggy was formerly employed as an executive secretary for the Chrysler Corporation in Bowie, Maryland until her retirement.
Peggy loved animals, especially dogs. She had a fantastic sense of humor and was a great cook. She was a graduate of Bishop Stang High School and the Kinyon Campbell Business School.
Survivors include her husband, Howard; her brother, Daniel J. Calnen and his wife Joyce, of New Bedford; her sister-in-law, Pamela Calnen; and many nieces, nephews, and cousins.
She is predeceased by her brother Jeremiah P. Calnen.
Her Memorial Mass will be held on SATURDAY FEBRUARY 5, 2022 at 10 AM at Holy Name of the Sacred Heart of Jesus Church. Burial will follow in St. Mary's Cemetery.
