On January 15, 2022 our beloved mother Roma Vega Diaz of Santa Paula, CA was called home to be with Our Lord with her children by her side after a long hard battle with COVID.
Roma was intelligent and an accomplished woman in the medical field. She loved helping others and was great at what she did. Roma had a heart of gold and was a faithful woman of God. She loved going to church and outings with her sisters and friends. She loved taking trips with her family as well.
Roma loved to watch her DALLAS COWBOYS especially with her son and grandsons. She was always yelling at the TV rooting for “them boys.” But most of all she loved being with her children and grandchildren. Family was everything to her.
Roma is survived by her beloved children Nick Diaz (Ashley Diaz), Jennifer Diaz, Sabrina Gonzales (David Licon), grandchildren Joseph (16), Ava (15), Aliyah (13), Laylah (11), Charlie (11), Nico (10), and Davey (8) who are all of Ventura; Sister Linda Carrillo; Brother Anthony Vega and lots of nieces, nephews, and extended family.
She is preceded in death by her mother Virginia (Virgie) Perez Vega, Father Carlos Vega, and her husband Nicky Diaz.
The family wishes to extend their gratitude to VCMC Hospital ICU 1 team for going above and beyond and showing unconditional love and support not only to Roma but to her family as well.
COME WITH ME
The Lord saw you getting tired
And a cure was not to be,
So He put his arms around you
and whispered, "Come with me"
With tearful eyes, we watched you suffer
And saw you fade away,
Although we loved you dearly,
We could not make you stay.
A golden heart stopped beating,
A beautiful smile at rest,
God broke our hearts to prove
He only takes the best.
It's lonesome here without you
We miss you so each day,
Our lives aren't the same
Since you went away.
When days are sad and lonely,
And everything goes wrong,
We seem to hear you whisper,
"Cheer up and carry on."
Each time we see your picture,
You seem to smile and say,
"Don't cry, I'm in God's keeping,
We'll meet again someday."
