New Bedford – Aldina (Andrade) Bettencourt, age 93, of New Bedford, passed away on Monday, January 17, 2022 at St. Luke’s Hospital. She was the beloved wife of the late Manuel Bettencourt.
Aldina was born in Faial, Azores, Portugal to the late Manuel Andrade and Maria Louisa Andrade. She had worked as a stitcher for a local sportswear manufacturer for many years. She had also belonged to the Irmandade do Divino Espirito Santo do Pico Club.
She is survived by her sons, Manuel Bettencourt, Jr. and his wife Jo-Ann and George Bettencourt and his wife Rochelle; grandchildren, Susan Riley, Sherri Bettencourt, Kevin Bettencourt, Robert Bettencourt, Kristin Fiano and Kyle Bettencourt; as well as her 7 great-grandchildren.
She had been predeceased by her late granddaughter, Kelly Bettencourt; as well as several late brothers and sisters.
Aldina’s visiting hours will be held on Thursday, January 20, 2022 from 5:00 P.M. – 8:00 P.M. at Perry Funeral Home. Her funeral will take place on Friday morning, beginning in the funeral home at 9:30 A.M. and followed by a Mass of Christian Burial at Our Lady of Mount Carmel Church at 10:30 A.M. Burial will immediately follow in St. John's Cemetery.
