Robert E. “Bob” Healey, 96, of Chester, NH, passed away Monday, January 17, 2022, in Parkland Medical Center in Derry, NH. Bob was born on October 27, 1925 in the family farmhouse on Fremont Rd in Chester NH, where he lived his entire life. He attended school at Chester's original 1 room schoolhouse. Bob worked for many years as a custodian at Chester Elementary, while also running his family farm producing milk which he sold H.P Hood and Son. He was a member the Chester Lion's Club and a local bowling league for many years. He was happiest on his farm with all of his animals and especially enjoyed visits from his grandchildren, nieces, and nephews when they were little.
He was never on social media but still made a mark on the Chester NH town Facebook page with occasional posts from neighbors sighting loose cows roaming around Fremont Rd.
He is survived by a step-son, Nathan Warren of Loudon, NH; step-daughter, Faith Baird of Raymond, NH; five grandchildren, Scott Nadeau, Sean Nadeau, Stacy MacLeish, Shane Warren and Sarah Prothero, seven great grandchildren, one great great grand, as well as many nieces, nephews, grandnieces and grandnephews. He was predeceased by his wife Barbara (Sumner) Healey in 2002, three brothers, Alvah Healey, Carroll Healey and Forrest Healey; and five sisters, Dorothy Clay, Myrtle Jenkins, Edna Kimball, Ethel Nichols, and Evelyn Cameron.
There are no calling hours. Following cremation, interment will be held privately in the spring by the family in the Great Hill Cemetery, Route 121A, Chester. Memorial contributions may be made to the Chester Lion’s Club, 133 East Derry Rd, Chester, NH 03036.
