Goffstown, NH– Rita P. (Daneau) Martin passed away on January 17, 2022 due to complications from a stroke and renal failure.
She was born in Manchester on June 15, 1939 the daughter of Arsene and Jeannette (Beliveau) Daneau.
She is predeceased by her husband of 59 years, Thomas A. Martin, her daughter, Pauline Kissell and her grandson, Dominik Martin.
She leaves behind Terry Scott and husband, Ted of Chester, her son, Andy Martin and wife, Gia of Pinardville, son, Paul Martin and wife Shirley of Manchester, son, Tom Martin of Pinardville and son in law John Kissell of Pinardville. She also leaves nine grandchildren, fifteen great grandchildren, her sister, Jeannette Couture of California, her brother, Maurice Daneau of Goffstown, sister, Terrie Montminy of Maryland and many nieces and nephews.
She and her husband Tom owned and operated The Cat O’ Nine Tails snack bar and cabins in Derry for many years.
She was a parishioner of St. Edmond Church and most recently Sacred Heart Church.
When she and Tom retired they became snow birds and loved their time in Florida. There, they played host to visitors who needed a break form the New England weather. They enjoyed traveling, driving cross country three times, as well as a trip to Ireland.
Her passions included coin collecting, stamp collecting, geneology and her latest was Swedish embroidery. She made blankets for all of her kids, grandkids, great grandkids and all of her Godchildren. But her biggest passion was life.
A mass of Christian burial will be celebrated on Friday, January 21, 2022 at 11:30 am in Sacred Heart Church, S. Main St.
A celebration of Life and burial will take place in Mt. Calvary Cemetery in the spring.
