Phyllis D. Mercer, 94, of Dartmouth, passed away on Saturday, January 15, 2022. She was wife of the late Alan B. Mercer, Sr.
Born in New Bedford, she was daughter of the late Stanley and Mary (Zajak). Prior to retirement, she was a nurse at St. Luke's Hospital and for the Dartmouth Community Nurses. Mrs. Mercer enjoyed spending time at Round Hill Beach and being with her friends at the Dartmouth Council on Aging. She enjoyed knitting, sewing and reading and was a very holistic person. Phyllis loved being with her family especially her many grandchildren.
Survivors include her children: John Mercer and his wife Margie of Pocassett, James Mercer of CA, Patricia Best of Dartmouth, Margaret Hamer and her partner Cecil Smith of Dartmouth and Elizabeth Mercer and her husband Paul Izyk of Westport; 12 grandchildren: Tara Rose and her husband Brian of Dartmouth, Jaslyn Borges and her husband Nick of New Bedford, Lindsay Best- Greenspan and her husband Jason of Dartmouth, Julie Best and her partner Ron Ouellette of Marion, Addie Walker and her husband Excell of W. Bridgewater, Mollie Hamer and her partner Mark Poitras of Dartmouth, Abbie Dore and her husband Nate of Peabody, Jonathan Mercer of Dorchester, Adam Mercer and his partner Kristine Rousseau of Pawcatuk, CT, Alex Mercer of Glenn Falls, NY, Robert Mercer of Thailand and Kevin Mercer of Thailand; 21 great grandchildren; 2 great great grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews.
She was mother of the late Alan Mercer and Stephen Mercer and sister of the late Edward, Nancy and Louise.
A memorial service will be announced at a later date.
