Obituary


Alexander, Regina (Glineckis), age 98 of Brockton, Braintree, Dorchester, and South Boston, died peacefully on January 16, 2022. She was the loving wife of Julian S. Alexander (Arlauskas), who passed away in 1975. Dear and devoted mother of 4 children: Juliana Vanick and her husband Stephen, John Alexander and his wife Cathi, Gerard Alexander and his wife Cleo as well as Richard Alexander and his wife Diane.

Loving grandmother of 11 - Kristen Frazier, Karabeth Vanick, Kimberly Hickman, John Michael, James, Daniel, Elisabeth Cox, Rachel, Paul, Gillian, and Lydia Alexander. And extra loving Great-grandmother of 4- Kennedy Cox, Maverick Cox, Robert Anthony Frazier, and Emily Hickman.

She was fondly known as “Nan” to all.

Born April 3, 1923 in South Boston, MA., Regina was the first born daughter of the late John and Sophie (Gurklys) Glineckis. She was the loving sister to the late Leonora Jarvisa nd the late Sr. Eugenia, CJC . She also was the loving sister-in-law to the late Albie Jarvis and the late Alphonse and Pauline Alexander. She was the loving daughter-in law to the late Stanley and Malvina (Arlauskas). A special aunt she was to many loving nieces and nephews.

Regina was a long-time member of the Lithuanian parish of St. Peter’s Church in South Boston. She loved anything ethnic and Catholic. Her religion was important. Socially, she belonged to the Muskateer Lodge - South Boston Lithuanian friends.

Regina attended South Boston High School, and Kathleen Dell Secretarial School. She worked at the US Army Base in Boston during WW2, and then was a medical secretary at Mass General Hospital Social Service for over 20 years. She will be remembered for her love of nature, gardening, crocheting, researching, reading and listening to audio books (especially murder mysteries). Family, religion, and Lithuanian culture were her most favorite things.

Visitation will be at St Peter’s Lithuanian Church, 75 Flaherty Way, South Boston, MA on Monday, January 31, 2022 from 9 - 10 AM, Funeral Mass at 10 AM. Interment to follow at New Calvary Cemetery in Boston.
