In 1956, Iva supported Hallman as he founded Hasty’s Communications and Electronics, which began as a Zenith television shop across from Tifton’s courthouse. She worked at Hasty’s as a receptionist, bookkeeper, and secretary over the years. Iva was a talented musician and gifted vocalist. She played the pipe organ, piano, trumpet, French horn, and saxophone, and played the pipe organ for Trinity United Methodist Church for many years. She and Hallman developed and ran a ministry traveling with groups to the Holy Land and the two were also avid world travelers. Iva was involved in numerous volunteer and ministry initiatives around Tifton over the years including the hospital’s Pink Lady program. The two were also involved with There is More Ministries of Balsam Grove, NC through much of their lives. Iva and Hallman moved to Balsam Grove in 1996 and then to Brunswick in 2003; Iva returned to Tifton in 2014 following the death of her husband.
