Michele D. Stroud – Michele Denise Stroud 62, Of Brockton, Ma., passed in the early evening on January 17th, 2022, where she was surrounded by her family. Michele was born on February 16, 1959, to Henry Shanks and Constance Shanks, also of Brockton, MA. Michele graduated from Brockton High School and soon thereafter, she attended Bridgewater State University where she achieved her life’s aspiration by earning a master’s degree in special education. Michele’s two great passions were teaching and children. Throughout her career, Michele was known for her ear-to-ear smile and passion for equality. She taught in many schools all throughout the South Shore, with her personal career culminating in owning and operating her own daycare, which she ran out of her home while simultaneously raising 12 children as a single mother. Michele enjoyed spending time with her family, friends, and her pets. She was passionate about the Lord and the great commission of making disciples. She loved teaching, poetry, fishing, pool, swimming, and watching the New England Patriots. Michele was a lifelong Prince fan; he was the only secular music artist she would listen to. Although she enjoyed many of his songs, Michele really enjoyed the classic, Purple Rain. She was passionate about evangelism, praising, worshiping the Lord, and serving others. Michele was a pacifist, a proud Native American woman that walked not only with the lord, but with dignity. She enjoyed sewing and knitting. Michele was predeceased by her sons Jeremiah K. Stroud and Tommie L. Stroud III. Her parents Henry Shanks and Constance Shanks, and her sister Lisa Shanks. She is survived by her daughters Tomica Leblanc, Connie Stroud, Naomi Neto, Victoria Stroud, her sons Timothy Stroud, Jonathan Stroud, Micheal Hollar, Mark Stroud, Isaiah Stroud-Freese, Tyee Shanks, her sister Melanie Shanks, and Rose Shanks her brothers Mark Shanks and Michael Shanks, as well as many nieces, nephews, grandchildren, great grandchildren.
Visitation in the Home of Funerarias Multi Culturel, 238 Court Street Brockton Friday February 11th from 5-8 pm. Services in the Trinity Baptist Church, 1367 Main Street Brockton Saturday February 12th at 9 am. Burial to follow in Melrose Cemetery, 88 N Pearl Street Brockton
