McAULAY, Donald F. Jr. Age 67, passed away peacefully in the comfort of his home on January 12, 2022.
Don was the devoted husband of the love of his life, Donna Collins McAulay (McLaughlin) and the cherished son of Joanne McAulay of Westwood, MA.
Don grew up in the Mattapan area of Boston, attended St. Angela's Church, and graduated from Boston Technical High School. He was also a member of the St. Joseph's Dante's Drum and Bugle Corps of Hyde Park, MA.
He was employed as a Massachusetts Corrections Officer, reaching the level of Sargent before he retired.
Don was a hard worker who also worked as a meat cutter for Star Market and then Roche Bros supermarkets for many years. Don loved spending time in the kitchen and at the grill preparing delicious dinners for family and friends.
He was an avid lifelong fan of the Red Sox and Patriots. He learned to play and enjoy golf during his retirement and loved riding his motorcycle with his friends. He was a classic car enthusiast whose favorite muscle car was the 1969 Dodge Super Bee.
He is survived by his children who he was so proud of, Courtney Patterson (McAulay) and her wife Brooke of Avon, MA, James Collins and his wife Renee of Bellingham, MA, Joseph Collins and his wife Yeantying (Helen) of Franklin, MA. He was the beloved brother of Sue Ellen McKinnon and her husband Mark of Braintree, MA, Mary Jane McAulay of Simsbury, CT, John McAulay of Simsbury, CT, Joanne Boehl and her husband Werner of Scituate, MA, Jennifer Maher of Boston, MA, and Karolyn Sokolosky and her husband Richard of Needham, MA. Don also leaves behind his pride and joy, his 3 loving grandchildren, Brianna, Rylie and Sam. Don will be greatly missed by his sisters-in-law, Patricia Chamberlain and her husband Dennis of Warwick, RI, Karen McLaughlin and her partner Michael Manfredi of Plymouth, MA.
A Celebration of Don's Life is being scheduled for July 2022 for all family and friends to attend, and will be announced at a later date.
