CHICOPEE – Patricia A. “Pat” (Rabideau) Mika, 82, of the Fairview section of Chicopee, was Called Safely Home on Saturday, January 15, 2022. She passed into Eternal Life from her home surrounded by the care and comfort of her loving family. She was born in Williamsburg on March 17, 1939, a beloved daughter of the late William R. Rabideau and Lillian P. (LaVallee) Rabideau Brakele. She was raised in Southwick, graduated from Cathedral High School in Springfield and attended Westfield State College, Holyoke Community College and Springfield Technical Community College. She moved to Westfield in 1977 where she lived until moving to Chicopee in 2005 where she lived the remainder of her life. She was the Secretary to the Vice President of Marketing at Columbia Manufacturing in Westfield, was employed for over 20 years in the Accounting Department for Sweet Life Foods, and was last employed for 10 years as a Real Estate Agent for Skye Mountain Realty in Chicopee. She was a Junior Girl Scout Leader for many years. Patricia also volunteered many hours at the Saint Stanislaus School Bingo, Lorraine’s Soup Kitchen, and as a Poll Worker at Stefanik School, all in Chicopee. She was a member of the Women of the Moose at the Moose Family Center 1849 and often attended the Rivermill Senior Center, both in Chicopee Falls. She was a former communicant of Saint Mary Church in Westfield where she served her parish as a CCD Teacher and a Eucharistic Minister. She was currently a communicant of Saint Anne Church in Chicopee. Most of all, she enjoyed spending time with her family members and friends. She was predeceased by her beloved husband and soul mate, Joseph J. Mika who was Called Home on January 24, 2001. They were married at Our Lady of the Lake Church in Southwick on June 13, 1959 and were blessed with over 51 years of happiness together. She leaves her two loving and devoted daughters, Deborah A. Gadreault of Ludlow, KY, and Judith P. Cullen and her husband, Jason, of Belchertown; her five cherished grandchildren, Ashley Sabonis, Brandon Sabonis, Jordan Sabonis and his wife, Anutka, Alyssa Sabonis, and Caitlin Mika; her seven cherished great grandchildren; her two dear brothers, Raymond Rabideau and his wife, Victoria, of Chicopee, and William Rabideau and his wife, Jeane, of West Springfield; her two dear sisters, Mariann Kinney and her husband, Raymond, of Agawam, and Margaret Souders and her husband, Gerald, of Feeding Hills; and her many dear nephews, nieces, cousins, friends and extended family members. In addition to her parents and husband, she was predeceased by her dear sister and brother in law, Elaine Talbot and her husband, Jerome. Her Funeral will be held on Thursday, January 20, 2022 beginning at the St. Pierre – Phaneuf Fairview Chapels, (413-533-3307), 506 Britton Street, Chicopee, MA 01020, (funeral home will open at 10:30 a.m.), followed by a Mass of Christian Burial at 12 p.m. at Saint Anne Church, 30 College Street, Chicopee, MA 01020. Her Burial will follow the Mass at Saint Mary Cemetery, 203 Southampton Road, Westfield, MA 01085. Her family will receive friends at the funeral home on Thursday, January 20, 2022 from 10:30 a.m. to 11:30 a.m. before Mass. The funeral home parking lot is located in the rear.
