Patricia L. Cavanaugh passed away surrounded by her loving family on January 12, 2022, at the
young age of 51. Tricia was a lifelong Weymouth resident and graduated with the Weymouth North class
of ’88. After graduating high school, she worked as a mail clerk at State Street for over 10 years.
Tricia enjoyed anything mentally stimulating such as puzzles, word searches, cribbage, and card
games. She found great joy in music. She had a loving heart and a wonderful memory for detail. She
commemorated every holiday, anniversary, and birthday with a card. Tricia made friends wherever she
went, including her dear friends at Care Pro in South Weymouth. She was truly a gift to all her friends
and family.
Tricia was the cherished daughter of George Cavanaugh of Weymouth and his late wife Carol.
She was the loving sister of Kathy French (Mark), Michael Cavanaugh (Michelle), Larry Cavanaugh
(Katie), Jack Cavanaugh (Stacey), Marianne French (Philip), and Tina Fink. She also leaves behind
cherished nieces, nephews, aunts, uncles, and cousins. The family will be forever grateful for the love and
care she received from her “sister” Stacey Miller. She took so much joy in the many visits she received
from her loving aunts, especially her outings with Aunt Pat.
Relatives and friends are respectfully invited to her mask-mandatory wake. Visiting hours are on
Wednesday, January 19, 2022, from 4-8pm in the C. C. Shepherd Funeral Home located at 134 Pleasant
St. (Columbian Sq.) Weymouth, MA 02190. Relatives and friends are welcomed to gather at the funeral
home at 9:30am Thursday January 20, 2022, for a Celebration of Life prior to the funeral mass which will
take place at Immaculate Conception Church in East Weymouth at 10:30am. Burial will follow at
Fairmount Cemetery in Weymouth. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in Tricia’s memory to the
