Charlie’s family would like to share these memories with you:
“Charles Albert was from Madawaska, a small-town way up north in Maine that most people have never heard of, but that meant the world to him. It was where he grew up with his family. He was the son of Albertine and Romeo Albert and brother to Ramone, Lorette, Rosie, Francis, and Paul. He had many uncles, aunts, cousins, and friends that he loved dearly and spoke of with fond memories. Charlie always loved to return to his hometown whenever he could and he loved to tell stories about growing up there to anyone who would listen. When he did, he would get that bright eyed beautiful look on his face as you do when you are home. It was in Madawaska he learned his devotion to family, devotion to God, and his strong work ethic. He also learned his love of the outdoors, being active, and anything that involved hard work. He was a skier, ice skater, snowshoe race champion, potato picker, and Eagle Scout and all-around hard worker. Charlie maintained his connection to his home and family and would never forget his many nieces and nephews who he cherished.
Charlie moved on to pursue his education and eventually his career in communications. He served in the Air National Guard and then went on to work for the telephone company in Boston where he worked for many years without a sick day that anyone could remember. Here he met his beloved wife Mary Ann Albert with whom he would build a wonderful life. Charlie and Mary Ann had four children: Denise Analoro, Peter Albert, Jeffrey Albert, and his wife, Sarah, and Danielle Lanzillo, and her husband, John, with whom they would create many lasting memories. He had a sense of adventure and pursued his passions. He and his family spent their early years living in Saint Thomas where he worked to set up the island's communications systems. Here he loved photography, scuba diving, spear fishing and spending time with his family. Charlie and his family returned to the States where they settled down in Mary Ann’s hometown of Brockton Massachusetts. He was close with his mother-in-law Catherine Raynard and father-in-law Edward Raynard whom he often referred to as one of his best friends. He also developed many new family friendships that continue to last through generations.
From Brockton he continued to share his adventures with his family. He loved to visit Disney World. He loved New Hampshire and the Mount Washington Valley. He worked tirelessly to provide his family the opportunity to visit his favorite places and spent many days and weekends there. He loved hiking Mt. Chocorua, skiing at Wildcat, and swimming at the Second Iron. He taught his family the value of working hard, and more importantly how to seek out your passions and enjoy them.
After working all those years Charlie went on to become the most devoted Grandfather that his children could have dreamed. He was Grandfather to Jessica, Charlie, and Cole Analoro, Maxwell, Joshua, and Eloise Albert, and Riley and Paige Lanzillo. He spent his early retirement loving and caring for this next generation of children with both his time and his heart. He continued to share his lessons and love with them as it was the most important job he ever had. Charlie and Mary Ann eventually made it back to Albany, New Hampshire to the family’s vacation home where they spent time enjoying a home that they both built and loved. His family continued to visit and share the life that he built, for that was what he loved most and was his true purpose, sharing the things he loved with his family. Charlie returned to Massachusetts at the end of his battle with cancer and passed away surrounded by the love of his family.”
Visiting hours will be held on Tuesday, January 18, 2022, from 4:00 to 7:00 pm, in the Conley Funeral Home, 138, Belmont Street (Rte. 123) Brockton. The funeral procession will gather at the funeral home on Wednesday, January 19, 2022, at 9:00am for a Funeral Mass in Christ the King Church, 54 Lyman Street, Brockton at 10:00 am. Interment will be private.
