She was employed by the City of Chelsea for her entire career which spanned from classroom teacher to principal to reading specialist. She was able to connect in a special way with her students and establish an influence that transcended the classroom and many of her students kept in contact long after graduation. The consummate educator, Mary continued her love of teaching long after retirement and would tutor her grandchildren and grand nieces and nephews whom she adored and showered with everlasting love. To see them succeed brought her so much joy. She was always researching new ways to best educate those around her and to open the world and all its possibilities to all she encountered.
