James W. “Jim” Cruwys, age 75, of Woburn, formerly of Winchester, passed away on January 13, 2022, following a brief illness. He was the beloved husband for 49 years of Barbara A. (Fiore) Cruwys.
Jim was born in Boston on December 13, 1946 to William and Juanita (Ball) “Tommie” Cruwys. He was raised and educated in Winchester and was a graduate of Winchester High School. He was a U.S. Army Vietnam Veteran, and worked for the Town of Winchester, Department of Public Works, for many years until his retirement.
In his spare time, Jim enjoyed spending time with his family and friends, fishing, puzzles and all kinds of home projects. He had a great sense of humor and was always telling stories and making people laugh.
In addition to his wife, Barbara, Jim is lovingly survived by his 3 daughters: Cynthia Thurell and her husband Mike of Billerica, Laura Cruwys and her fiancé Jeff, and Karen Cruwys and her partner Jon, all of Woburn. He also leaves behind a brother, Stanley Cruwys and his partner Cheryl, 5 grandchildren: Alex, Josh, Taylor, Kaleigh and Chris, and many nieces and nephews.
In light of the Covid-19 restrictions, Funeral Services will be private. A Celebration of Life will follow in the summer.
