Ralph L. Jordan, Jr. (72) of Methuen, MA passed away on January 6, 2022, following a 15-day battle of Covid and just 16 days after losing his son to Covid. Ralph was born in Manchester, NH on February 28, 1949, to Eleanor and Ralph Jordan, Sr. On October 1, 1966, he married Gloria (slaughter) Jordan and they had six beloved children. Ralph worked as a laborer throughout his years and retired from Malden Mills of Lawrence, MA. Ralph, like his son’s, was an avid New England sports fan and enjoyed watching the games or attending them live with his son’s. He loved the outdoors. He enjoyed bicycling and many times rode his bike from Lawrence or Methuen to several beaches, as far as Cape Ann, Gloucester, MA. He enjoyed weightlifting, kayaking, and camping. His children reflect when they were young and the factory where he worked would close for 2 weeks in the summer, and they would go on their 2-week camping venture that would start with the Berkshires (Western Massachusetts), then to Vermont, and ending in the White Mountains in New Hampshire. He also enjoyed rock picking and rock collecting and established a large collection consisting of Amethyst, Garnets, and many other gems and stones. He also enjoyed hiking. His daughter, Dorothy, reflects on their last hiking trip up Mount major with her father, her brother, and her granddaughter, she expressed his joy and peace he found being up on the mountain, close to the Heavens. He was a God-fearing man who loved Jesus and has spent many days and nights reading his Bible. He is preceded in death by his parents, his brother Bruce Jordan, his son Ralph Jordan, III, his granddaughter Janelle Jordan and his friend of many years Patricia Bowden. He is survived by his wife, Gloria Jordan, of Methuen, MA. His daughter’s, Dorothy Jordan, of Salem, NH., Sharon Jordan and her partner David, Terri Jordan and her partner Andy, and Gayle Jordan, all of Methuen, MA. His son, Bruce Jordan, and his wife Jennifer, of Salem, NH. His grandchildren, Moises Afonso, Zachary Jordan, Craig Jordan, Brady, Jordan, and Breana Jordan, of Salem, NH., Justin Jordan and Julia McGrail, of Methuen, MA., John McGrail, of Hudson, NH., David Deas, of Dracut, MA, Gloria Loik, of Sandown, NH, and Celina DaGiau, of Newmarket NH., and 16 great grandchildren.
Family and friends are invited to visiting hours for both Ralph L Jordan, Jr. and Ralph L Jordan, III on Sunday, January 30, 2022 from 3:00 pm to 5:00 pm at Edgar J. Racicot Inc.
