West Baldwin - Carl C. Draper, 59, of West Baldwin died on January 9, 2022 at his home after a long battle with kidney disease. He was born in Portland on May 21, 1962 a son of Howard Draper and Virginia (Bliss) Draper and was educated in local schools.
He worked at Kezar Falls Woolen Mill and for JC Flooring, then worked for Maietta Construction in West Baldwin for several years. He also worked for B&G Excavation, Grant Construction, Gene Bliss and for the Town of Baldwin plowing snow.
Carl enjoyed being outdoors. Hunting, fishing and trapping were among his favorite things to do. He loved just being in the woods. Above all he loved time spent camping at Aziscohos Lake northwest of Rangeley. Carl lived an adventurous life and every adventure had a story. He had a great sense of humor and could twist any situation to make you laugh.
He was predeceased by his stepsister, Tina Lajoie. Carl is survived by his mother, Virginia Norton of West Baldwin. His father, Howard Draper and wife Donna of West Baldwin. Two sisters, Crystal Grant of West Baldwin and Brenda Shields and husband Mike (Bert) Shields of West Baldwin. A stepbrother, Harold Williams and wife Marge of Sebago. Also several aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews, cousins, many great friends, and last but not least, his beloved dogs "Ringo, Cricket and Belle".
Finally, a note from his Dad: "Carl, Blaze us a trail to find you so we can have the laughter and good times again. We will bring your dogs.....no chickens!"
