BIDDEFORD - David A. Antone, age 64, passed away peacefully in his home after a long illness, on January 12, 2022. He was born in Portland, Maine on May 16, 1957, son of Theresa Antone and Carlton Antone. He attended schools in Portland and obtained his GED at a later time. David met his wife Wanda in June of 1980 and they were married on May 14, 1983.
For several years, David worked at and managed the Ocean Street Carwash in South Portland. He also worked at Rockwood Industries, and then onto Wood Structures until he became disabled.
David's greatest joy was his family. Until he became disabled, he was very active with them. When his two children were younger, he loved nothing more than taking them fishing and camping. He also loved taking his family to amusement parks along the East Coast, with his favorite trip being the one they took to Disney World. Another favorite of his were family cookouts. When he was no longer able to work, he developed a love for reading and television.
Nothing made him happier or prouder than when he became a Papa. His grandchildren visited often and he enjoyed his time with them, whether just watching tv, playing Uno, or going out for ice cream.
He was predeceased by his father, mother, stepfather Harland Fogg, and his brother Carl Antone. David is survived by his loving wife of almost 39 years, Wanda (Broomhall) Antone; his children, son Scott Antone and his wife Jacqueline of Acton; daughter Lita Antone and her partner Mickey Herzberg of Biddeford; his three grandchildren Arabella, Jaxson, and Carter Antone of Acton; special Godson Clyde Humiston of Rockport; his sister Janice Pinkham and husband Bob of Old Orchard Beach; brother Dennis Antone of Casco; and many nieces, nephews, and extended family members.
A memorial service will be held Saturday, January 22, 2022 at 1pm at the Grace Point Church, 329 South Street, Biddeford. In lieu of flowers, please consider a donation to your local food pantry, or bring non-perishable foods items to the service.
The family would like to give special thanks to his favorite home nurse Erin, TeleHealth nurse Courtney, and the staff of Hospice at Home.
