FALL RIVER…Rita M. (Levesque) Silva, age 102, of Fall River passed away January 11, 2022 at St. Anne’s Hospital after a brief illness.
She was the loving wife of the late Joao Silva.
Born in Fall River, she was a daughter of the late Joseph and Marie Elizabeth (Labrie) Levesque
and had been a lifelong resident of this city.
Mrs. Silva was a communicant of the former Notre Dame / St. Bernadette’s Parish and had worked as a trimmer
for several textile manufacturers including the former Shelburne Shirt Co., N.B.C Garment and Kerr Mill.
She had enjoyed taking trips to casinos, scratch tickets, playing cards and spending time with her family.
She was also an avid Red Sox fan.
Survivors include her son: Michael Silva of Dartmouth; her daughter-in-law: Donna Silva of Little Compton;
her grandchildren: Scott Miranda and his wife Susana of North Providence; David Miranda and his wife Holly of Fall River;
her great grandchildren: Jaden Miranda, Hayley Miranda, Kyla Miranda and McKenna Miranda;
her great-great granddaughter: RaeLynn Olivia Canuel, her Godchild: Linda Bailey of Tiverton and many nieces and nephews.
She was the sister of the late Jeannette Cayer, Bertha Rapoza, Normand Levesque and Lucien Levesque.
There will be no calling hours and funeral will be private at request of the family.
