Gloria H Lawrence (Sevigny), age 86 of Whitman, died unexpectedly at Good Samaritan Hospital on Monday January 10, 2022.
Gloria was the beloved wife of the late Albert E. Lawrence of Whitman. The daughter of the late Julia Sevigny (Pecor) and Adrien Sevigny also of Whitman.
Gloria was born in Manchester NH in 1935; and later raised in Claremont, NH where she graduated from St. Mary’s High School. Gloria in her youth was an avid figure skater and it was at the Claremont Skating Club that Gloria and Al met, became figure skating partners and the rest is history.
In 1957 Gloria and Al followed her parents and sisters to Whitman where they settled and raised their four children, Lori Lindo, of Raynham; Albie Lawrence Jr and wife Laurie (Buchanan), of Easton; Robin Rouseau, of Whitman and David Lawrence and wife Pamela (Perrault), of East Bridgewater.
Gloria’s two sisters, the late Gail Ryan of Whitman, and Carol Caruso of Kingston, both have meant the world to her. Gloria’s sister-in-law, Carolyn Maranville (Lawrence) of Claremont NH was a very special person in Gloria’s life along with her husband AJ Maranville. Gloria also leaves behind brother-in-law Leo Lawrence Jr and his wife Claire of Claremont, NH. Gloria is the proud grandmother of nine (9) grandchildren and ten (10) great grandchildren that have truly loved her and will miss her forever.
Gloria loved beach’n it up in her and Al’s Jeep at Saquish / Duxbury beach in the 80’s and at their summer home in Onset in the 90’s. Gloria was an avid Red Sox, Bruins, and Patriot’s fan for sure, try telling her she wasn’t.
Gloria/ Mom/ Aunt/ Nana/ Grandma/ Great Grandma/ Neighbor and Friend is and will always be missed by all that knew her.
Her visiting hours will be held on Tuesday January 18th from 9:00-10:00AM, in the Blanchard Funeral Chapel, Plymouth Street (Rte. 58 at the rotary circle) Whitman, followed by a funeral Mass at 10:30AM in the Holy Ghost Church, Whitman. Burial will be in St James Cemetery, Whitman.
