Cherylann Doherty Haley, age 62, of Woburn, formerly of Winchester, passed away on January 11, 2022. She was the beloved wife of the late Thomas Haley.
Cherylann was raised and educated in Winchester, and was a graduate of Winchester High School with the class of 1977, where she was a talented swimmer. After high school, she went to work for Textron and then became a nurse’s aide. She was employed at Aberjona Nursing Center in Winchester for many years.
In her spare time, Cherylann, who was known as “Mad Dog” for her feisty personality, loved to play pool and played goalie for the Winchester Police hockey team. She was a fan of all of the Boston sports teams, enjoyed cookouts, watching “General Hospital”, game shows and playing “Blitz Bingo” and “Candy Crush” on her tablet.
She is lovingly survived by her children: Jennifer (Steber) Norvilus and Shawn Haley, both of Woburn. She was also the devoted grandmother of Marcus Norvilus of Woburn, and the dear sister of Suzanne Maloney of Melrose, Daniel Doherty and his wife Carol of Haverhill, Brian Doherty and his companion Kate Witham of Haverhill. She was the cherished aunt of Amanda Doherty of Haverhill and Michael Maloney of Salem, and the dear sister-in-law of Chris and John Maloney, both of Malden.
Visiting Hours will be held at the Costello Funeral Home, 177 Washington St., Winchester, on Saturday, January 15 from 10AM-12 noon. Relatives and friends are kindly invited. Burial is private.
