Roland A. Bienvenue, Jr., 60, of Chicopee, MA (formerly of Westfield), passed away on January 10, 2022. He leaves behind his loving wife of 34 years Sherry (Maziarz), daughter Shannon (Westfield), and son Brian (South Hadley). Roland was predeceased by his father Roland Sr., his mother Evelyn (Jarvis), and brothers-in-law James Marren and Arthur Jefferson. He is survived by his brothers and sisters Susan (Major) Shupe, Carol (Arthur) Picard, Michael Bienvenue, Linda Jefferson and Kevin Bienvenue, as well as many nieces and nephews. He also leaves behind his mother-in-law Teresa Maziarz and brother-in-law David (Barb) Maziarz. Roland was employed at Collins Aerospace (formerly Hamilton Standard) for over 34 years. He participated in company bowling leagues and softball teams for many years. He also enjoyed golfing and bowling with friends and family, camping, beach trips, traveling, playing horseshoes, darts, poker and keno. He spent many Sunday afternoons watching football games and playing cards with family. Roland was a huge Baltimore Orioles and New England Patriots fan, traveling to see several games. He coached his son's sports teams for the Tigers organization for many years. He also served in the Navy Reserves as a sonar technician after graduation from Westfield High School. Calling hours will be held on Sunday, January 16, 2022 from 10:00 AM – 1:00 PM at the Grise Funeral Home, 280 Springfield St, Chicopee, MA. A private burial will take place at a later date.
