Helen (Cardinute) Brazil, age 97, a lifelong resident of Mansfield, passed away peacefully on Tuesday, January 11, 2022 at the Daggett-Crandall-Newcomb Home in Norton. She was the beloved wife of the late Clarence Brazil.
Born in Mansfield, MA on December 28, 1924, she was a loving daughter of the late Charles and Agnes (Mennelo) Cardinute.
Helen grew up in Mansfield. She was a communicant of Saint Mary’s Church in Mansfield and prior to retiring had worked as a machinist at the former Bay State Tap & Die Company in Mansfield.
Helen loved spending time in the presence of her adoring family. She was devoted to her religion and friends and her hobbies included photography.
She was the dear sister of the late Carl Cardinute, Joseph Cardinute, Jenny Thomas, Mary Cataloni and Edith Vierra. She was devoted aunt of Leslie Hall, Mark Vierra, Stephen Vierra and Paul Thomas and is also survived by many other nieces and nephews.
Her funeral Mass, to which relatives and friends are cordially invited to attend, will be celebrated on Friday, January 21st at 11:00 A.M. in Saint Mary’s Church, 330 Pratt St. (Route 106) Mansfield. Burial will follow at Saint Mary’s Cemetery in Mansfield.
Visitation will be held prior to the services on Friday morning from 9:30-10:30 A.M. at the Sherman & Jackson Funeral Home, 55 North Main St., Mansfield.
