Celestino A. DiGiovanni, 81

Dateline: Cotuit, MA

Celestino A. “Tino” DiGiovanni, age 81, of Cotuit, formerly of Mansfield, passed away peacefully, surrounded by his loving family on Friday, January 7, 2022 at the Massachusetts General Hospital in Boston. He was the beloved husband of Terri (Gillis) DiGiovanni, to whom she was wed for sixty years.

Born in Brockton, MA on December 3, 1940, he was a loving son of the late Erminio and Philomena (Romano) DiGiovanni.

Tino grew up and was educated in Mansfield. He was a 1958 graduate of Mansfield High School where he was a standout athlete, a natural artist and talented singer. He furthered his education, attending Stonehill College.

Prior to retiring, Tino was a founder and partner of Adlife Marketing and Communications in Norwood. Since making his home for the past thirty-two years in Cotuit, he was a communicant of Our Lady of Assumption Church in Osterville, Our Lady of Victory Church in Centerville and a former longtime parishioner of Saint Mary’s Church in Mansfield.

Tino loved spending time with his family and was an avid sports lover his entire life. He was the President and General Manager of the Hyannis Harbor Hawks in the Cape Cod Baseball League, where he loved mentoring young athletes and along with his wife Terri, housed over fifty players throughout the years.

While residing in Mansfield, Tino was involved with Pop Warner Football, serving as a coach and was actively involved in the former Punt, Pass and Kick Competition for Youths. Off the field, Tino was a member of the Rhode Island Food Dealers Association.

In addition to his wife, he is survived by his devoted daughters: Marcy Small and her husband David of Hyannis, Lisa Hallgren of Norton, Gina DiGiovanni and her wife Brenda of Mansfield and Maria Denekamp and her husband Mark of Norton. He was the cherished and adoring grandfather of Ryan Small, Tyler Small, Joseph Hallgren, Anthony Hallgren, Alison Aldo and her husband Luke and Jacob Hallgren. He is also survived by his loving dog “Bella”, as well as his dear in-laws, cousins, nieces, nephews and a large circle of friends.

Relatives and friends are cordially invited to attend visiting hours on Wednesday, January 12th from 4:00-8:00 P.M. at the Sherman & Jackson Funeral Home, 55 North Main Street, Mansfield.

His Funeral Mass will be celebrated on Thursday, January 13th at 10:00 A.M. in Saint Mary’s Church, 330 Pratt Street (Route 106) Mansfield. Burial will follow at Saint Mary’s Cemetery in Mansfield.
