John Roderick Scott, 75, of Tifton passed away Thursday, January 6, 2022, at his residence. A graveside funeral service will be held for Mr. Scott at 2:00 p.m. Sunday, January 9, 2022, at Tift Memorial Gardens, where he will be laid to rest. The Rev. Glenn Ford will officiate.
Born August 10, 1946, in Tifton, Mr. Scott was the son of the late John Thomas Scott and Annie Rakestraw Scott. He was also preceded in death by two brothers and two sisters. He was retired and enjoyed deer hunting and fishing.
Mr. Scott is survived by his wife, Helen Jeanette Hale Scott of Tifton; his children and their spouses, John and Jill Scott of North Carolina; David and Pamela Scott of Tift County and Deborah and Lamar Collier of Turner County; nine grandchildren; and nine great-grandchildren.
