Marissa Lynne Rowe Purvis, 36, of Irwin County, Georgia, died Wednesday, January 5, 2022, at Tift Regional Medical Center, in Tifton, Georgia.
Funeral services will be held 2 PM, Saturday, January 8, 2022, at Riverbend Baptist Church in Irwin County, Georgia, with the Rev. Terron Stonecypher officiating. Interment will follow in Riverbend Cemetery. The family will receive friends from 6 PM to 8 PM, Friday evening, January 7, 2022, at the funeral home in Ocilla.
Mrs. Purvis was born October 14, 1985, in Tifton, Georgia, to Julian & Brenda Stone Rowe. She was a 2004 graduate of Tift County High School. She earned an Associates degree in Business from Ashford University and earned her certification in Phlebotomy from Wiregrass Georgia Technical College. Mrs. Purvis was currently employed by the Irwin County Board of Education as a paraprofessional in the Special Education department. She enjoyed art as well as camping and boating. She was an avid shopper and loved her dogs: Sunday, Ace, Hippie, and Sassy. Marissa was a member of Riverbend Baptist Church in Irwin County, Georgia.
She is survived by her husband, Jed Purvis; her son, Jesten Luke Purvis; and her daughter, Maylin Lane Purvis, all of Irwin County; her parents: Julian & Brenda Stone Rowe of Tift County; grandparents: Lavonne Rowe and Vick & Delores Stone, all of Tift County; father & mother-in-law, Lamar & Dale Purvis of Irwin County; sister-in-law, Marla & Brad Thompson and two nephews: Tyce Thompson and Tanner Thompson, all of Tift County. Several aunts, uncles, cousins and their families also survive. She was preceded in death by grandparent: J.R. Rowe.
