Hanson, Verna B. Dupree, former longtime resident of Whitman, died on January 5, 2022. She was the beloved wife of sixty-four years to the late George W. Dupree.
Born in Weymouth and raised in Abington, she was a 1950 graduate of Abington High School. She was the daughter of the late George B. Bicknell and Doris (Gaffney) Bicknell.
During the years, Verna loved to enjoy spending time with her family, especially her grandchildren and great grandchildren and reminiscing about fun family vacations shared throughout the years.
Verna is survived by her loving children, Lynne Twomey and her husband John of Bridgton, ME, Steven Dupree and his wife Jennifer of Naples, ME, and Paula Cheverie and her husband Richard of Pembroke. She is also survived by her grandchildren Ben Fletcher and his wife Heidi of Hanson, Greg Fletcher of Bridgton, ME, Richard L. Cheverie and his wife Amanda of Plympton, JoAnna Letourneau and her husband Douglas of Pembroke, Lauren Gould and her husband Scott of Tewksbury, Erica Dupree of Woonsocket, RI., Brett Dupree of Fairhaven and Evan Dupree of New Bedford.
She is also survived by seven great-grandchildren, Ryan and Bee Fletcher, Allison and Jacob Cheverie, Hadley and James Letourneau and Henry Gould.
Verna is also survived by her sister, Phyllis Huddleston of Warren, RI. and dear friend Ralph David Hayes of Hanson
