Obituary

Blanche Marie (Walker) Mucciarone, a resident of Newton, passed away peacefully on January 4th, 2022 at home surrounded by her loving family.

Blanche was born and raised in Walpole to the late Wallace and Blanche (Campbell) Walker. She was a loving wife, caring sister, devoted mother, compassionate grandmother, warmhearted great grandmother, and true friend. Blanche’s life was her family. She leaves behind her beloved husband Norman with whom she shared 71 years of marriage. She was the devoted mother to Patty Solomon and husband Harvey, Joanne McNeill and Thomas Costagliola, Donna Burman and husband Ron, David Mucciarone and wife Debbie, Nancy Mucciarone, Jack Mucciarone and wife Kim, Jill Scacchi and husband Joe, Susan Kean and husband Mike and Kim Pinto and husband Joe. Blanche also leaves behind many grandchildren and great grandchildren. She was the sister to Charlotte Alger and the late Vivian Baker, Shirley Carroll, Wallace Walker, Phyllis Valade, Barbara Fitzgibbons, and James Walker.

Family, friends, and the Catholic faith were Blanche's greatest treasures. She will best be remembered as a kind, and wonderful person, who enjoyed cooking, dancing, golfing, and spending time with her family.

Blanche had a special place in her heart for all generations of her family. Many summer days were spent outside her Waban home by the pool, surrounded by her children, grandchildren and great grandchildren, blissfully dancing and playing with them.

For 35 years, Blanche served as the Director of Food Services at the Newton Public Schools. Once retired, she lived a beautiful, active life filled with travel, adventures, shopping, and numerous rounds of golf.

Blanche will always be remembered as a generous person that would always have a warm cup of coffee and smile welcoming you at her door.

and the rain fall soft upon your fields,
and until we meet again,
may God hold you in the hollow of his hand.”

Blanche is dearly loved and will be sadly missed, and her kindness, love and support will be with us forever.

Relatives and friends are invited to attend her calling hours Monday Jan. 10th, in the Charles F. Oteri and Son Franklin Funeral Home 33 Cottage St. from 9-10:30AM.

Her funeral Mass will follow in St. Mary's Church, Franklin at 11AM. To view the Mass stmarysfranklin.org Face coverings are required at the funeral home and for the Mass.

A private family burial will take place at the parish cemetery.

Due to the current pandemic, a celebration of life reception will take place at a future date.

In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations be made in Blanche’s name to St. Jude’s Hospital .
