James W. Regan, 72, passed away on 25 December 2021, in his home in Smithfield, RI.
Born in Holyoke, MA, he was the son of the late Michael F. and Genevieve E. (Sanocki) Regan. After graduating from Chicopee High School, he went on to receive his Bachelor of Science degree while attending Worcester Polytechnic Institute. Jim retired as a senior pipe service engineer at Anvil International in North Kingstown, RI after 35 years.
During his retirement, he enjoyed working around the house, visits from his children and grandchildren (especially their hugs), his Red Sox and Patriots, winter trips to Florida with family, summer BBQs in Chicopee, “Regan” Thanksgiving, “Regan” Christmas, and always family. He also loved his daily crossword puzzles, History Channel documentaries, and the occasional computer game, especially Minesweeper.
Jim is the dear father of Daniel Regan of East Providence, RI, and Rebecca (Regan) Trechok and her husband Jason of Worcester, MA. He is predeceased by his brother and wife Michael and Jo-Ann Regan of Avon, CT. He leaves behind two sisters and their husbands: Kathleen and Russell Vance of Cape Coral, FL, and Rosemary and Thomas Dachowski of Chicopee, MA; his two brothers and their wives: Robert and Maureen, of South Hadley, MA, and William and Jody of Wilbraham, MA. He is also survived by his former wife, Joan (Huesner) Regan of Pasadena, TX. He is the beloved “Papa” of Cloe and Benjamin, and leaves many nieces, nephews, great-nieces, and great-nephews.
A private memorial service will be offered on Friday, 7 January 2022, with burial at a later date.
