David Bennett Brenton, age 64, of Stoneham, formerly a longtime resident of Winchester, passed away on January 3, 2022 after a long illness. He was the beloved husband of Ann L. (Barton) Brenton.
Born in Chelsea, David was the son of the late S. Bennett Brenton, Jr. and Margaret (Benjamin) Brenton. He was raised and educated in Winchester and was a graduate of Winchester High School. He attended UMass Amherst, where he played hockey, and worked for many years as an insurance adjuster.
In his spare time, he loved to play hockey, and was actively involved in his kids’ athletic activities when they were growing up. He coached Stoneham Youth Hockey and Stoneham Youth Soccer and also summered on Long Beach in Rockport, where they had many friends.
In addition to his wife, Ann, David is lovingly survived by his children: Elizabeth Dunkle and her husband Patrick of East Wakefield, NH, Daniel Brenton and his partner Brian Milauskas of Winchester and NH, and Meaghan Billings of Stoneham. He was the devoted grandfather of Haleigh and Warren Dunkle, Ava Fuller and Gunnar Billings, the dear brother of Jane Kenney and her husband David of Townsend, Jeanne Harris and her husband David of Danvers, the late Margaret DeSangro, and is further survived by several nieces and nephews.
