LIMERICK - Pennie Lee Cobbett, 67, passed away on December 30, 2021 at Barron Center after a long illness.
She was born in Bridgton on March 10, 1954 to the late Maurice and Evelyn Gammon. Pennie graduated from Sacopee Valley High School in 1972 as Valedictorian of her class. She went on to marry Paul Cobbett in 1972. She later worked for Co-Hi Orchards in Cornish for most of her career until arthritis got too much for her.
Pennie and Paul enjoyed their camping trips, annual Florida vacations to Orlando and being with family, friends and their pets. When their health declined, she spent a lot of time watching the birds on the feeders at their house and watching Lifetime movies especially with her granddaughter Kylie. Meme was very close with her grandsons as well and was a 'secret keeper'. She loved and adored her grandchildren and would go to their events when she was able. Pennie was also known for her love of sweets.
Pennie was predeceased by her husband Paul Cobbett of 49 years in June of 2021, infant daughter Nikki in 1974, parents Maurice in 2000 and Evelyn in 2006, as well as a brother, James in 2002.
Pennie is survived by a daughter, Michelle Cobbett, of Standish as well as three grandchildren- Brayden and Kylie Cobbett of Standish, and Dylan Cobbett and Significant other, Marina of Scarborough. She is also survived by one sister Lucy of Porter and several nieces and nephews and cousins.
