Howard L. Tipping, age 90, passed away Saturday, January 1, 2022 at Morton Hospital in Taunton, after a brief illness. Howard was the loving husband of the late Elizabeth “Betty” (Zucco) Tipping who was the love of his life, his partner and best friend for over 65 years.
Born in Taunton, Howard was the son of the late Charles & Nellie Tipping. Howard resided most of his life in Norton and Raynham. He was a graduate of Taunton High School and Bridgewater State College where he earned a bachelor’s degree in English and History. Howard was employed at Grossman’s for over 30 years as a purchasing manager. He later went on to work in the maintenance department for the Raynham Public Schools. After his retirement in 1996, Howard spent his time passionately pursuing his interest such as yard sales, car shows, antiques, wood working and refinishing old furniture. He especially enjoyed spending time with his grandchildren and great-grandchildren, attending many sporting events, ballet recitals and reminiscing about the past. Howard would often be seen outside in his yard attending the flower gardens with Betty and enjoying the outdoors. Howard had a quick wit and sense of humor and had no problem speaking his mind. Howard loved his one on one time with his children and his eyes would light up when they entered the room.
Howard is survived by his beloved children; Keith H. Tipping and his companion Andrea Cote of Taunton, David C. Tipping and his wife Annie of Bourne, Glenn A. Tipping and his wife Anita of Taunton, and Beth J. Barstad and her husband Leon of Raynham. Howard also leaves behind his cherished grandchildren; Kelcie Anacleto of Fairhaven, Kasey Tipping-Nagy and her husband Stefan of Boulder CO. Bailey and Christopher Barstad of Raynham and great-grandchildren; Manuel and Dante Anacleto.
Relatives and friends are invited to attend visiting hours on Sunday, January 9th from 2-4pm. at the O’Keefe Wade Funeral Home, 70 Washington St., Taunton, MA 02780. A funeral home service will be held directly after the visitation at 4pm. Burial will be at a later date. Mask and social distancing will be required.
