Obituary

Lance West, age 69, of Wellesley, formerly of Winchester, passed away on December 19, 2021. Born, raised and educated in Winchester, Lance was the son of the late Ellsworth Courtney West Sr. and Helen (Ward) West.

Lance was a graduate of Winchester High School. After high school, he enlisted in the U.S. Army, was a proud veteran, and worked as a warehouse manager for many years.

In his spare time, he enjoyed playing and watching sports, playing baseball with his kids, coaching their Little League baseball teams, spending time with his grandchildren and watching football. He enjoyed watching “Property Brothers”, which generated his interest in carpentry. Remembered as a “morning person”, Lance loved his routine of going on his morning walks, enjoying a cup of coffee and making breakfast.

Lance is lovingly survived by his children: Lance, Joshua, Delina, Michael, Nicholas, Derek and Anthony West . He was one of twelve children, and also leaves behind his siblings: Marsha, Wayne, Joyce, Bruce, Daryl, Gail, Terri, Lois and Aaron. He was predeceased by two brothers: the late Craig L. West and the late Ellsworth Courtney West, Jr., and is further survived by many grandchildren, nieces and nephews.

Relatives and friends are kindly invited to gather for Visiting Hours at the Costello Funeral Home, 177 Washington St., Winchester, on Friday, January 7, from 6-8PM, with a Prayer Service to conclude the visitation at 8PM. Masks are required. Burial is private.
