Cotter, Robert P. “Bob” also known affectionately as Boa, age 70, currently of Port St. Lucie, FL formerly of West Roxbury, passed away on December 30, 2021. Bob was born on Mission Hill, MA to the late Michael and Patricia Cotter. He was raised in West Roxbury, MA and has been a resident of Port St. Lucie (fondly referred to as Paradise) for the past 20 years. Prior to retirement, Bob was a Facilities Manager for Verizon for approximately 24 years. He was the Broker/Owner of Suburban Realty in Port St. Lucie, FL.
His love of golf began with caddying at Charles River and continued thru his entire life. He loved to cook elaborate meals for his family and friends, his favorite two ingredients were butter and cream! Bob had a passion for fine cars, especially Cadillacs. Earlier in his life, Bob was the General Manager of Charles River Country Club and taught Hotel Restaurant Management at Holliston Jr. College. He was a member at Pinecrest Country Club in Holliston, MA. President of Hillview Country Club, North Reading MA. He was also a Golf coach at Don Bosco High School in Boston, MA and a golf mentor to many others.
Most importantly, Bob was a true friend and mentor to both family and friends. Tirelessly & humbling giving of himself to others in a manner that those that were touched by his kindness will never forget.
Bob was the beloved brother of Michael Cotter and his fiancé Lu Ann Moss, Patti Ordung and her husband Bob, Margaret Goehring, Maribeth Kelly and her late husband Frank, John Cotter and his wife Liz, and the late Rick Cotter. He is also survived by many nieces, nephews, great nieces, great nephews, and extended family members and friends.
Florida visitation will held on Monday, January 3, from 6 to 8pm at Yates Funeral Home, 526 SW Port St. Lucie Boulevard, Port St. Lucie, FL.
Visitation will be held at the P.E. Murray-F.J. Higgins, George F. Doherty & Sons Funeral Home, 2000 Centre St. West Roxbury on Thursday, January 6, from 5-8pm. Funeral from the funeral home on Friday, January 7, at 9am followed by a funeral Mass in St. Theresa Church, West Roxbury at 10am. Relatives and friends kindly invited. Interment in St. Joseph Cemetery, West Roxbury. In lieu of flowers contributions may be made to Help Frank Help Families, 708 Main Street, Lancaster, MA 01523.
