JoAnn Cook Travers age 65 of Walpole, MA died peacefully due to covid
at the Hope Hospice & Palliative Care in Providence, RI on December 23,
2021. She was born in Milford, MA on July 26, 1956 to Ronald (Jake)
Cook and June (Hughes) Cook. She grew up in Franklin, MA spending many years working in the fields and farm stand at the Cooks family farm. She graduated from Franklin High School, Franklin, MA and was a graduate of Penn State University. She was
predeceased by her late husband, Richard Travers, her parents and her
brother Jeff Cook.
She was a resident of Denver, Colorado, Cosa Mesa, California and Hartington, Nebraska.
She moved to Hartington, Nebraska in 2006 to manage a farm with her husband Richard. In Nebraska she loved to sit on her farmers porch with her two dogs. She worked at Kruse True Value in Hartington and she volunteered for a State-wide outreach program going to low income communities teaching them about nutrition and establishing community gardens. She also volunteered for the 4-H program. She moved to Walpole, MA in 2019.
She is survived by her step son Richard Travers of Walpole, MA, her sister Linda Hildebrand of Eureka, CA, her brothers Ron Cook Jr., of Beaufort, NC, Jim Cook of Chipley, FL and Christopher Cook Sr., of Franklin, MA, four grandchildren and many nieces and nephews. She had a positive attitude and contagious laugh. Burial of her cremated remains will be at a later date. In lieu of flowers, please send memorials to your favorite charity.
