Obituary

CHICOPEE – Jean F. (Wilson) Chouinard, 74, of the Aldenville section of Chicopee, was Called Safely Home on Wednesday, December 29, 2021. She passed into Eternal Life at her home surrounded by the care and comfort of her loving family. She was born in Northampton on February 5, 1947, a daughter of the late Alexander T. and Mae F. (Bartley) Wilson. She was raised in Northampton and graduated from Northampton High School. She furthered her education and received an Associate’s Degree from Holyoke Community College. She moved to Aldenville in 1974 where she lived the remainder of her life. Jean worked for many years as a Legal Secretary for the Murphy McCoubrey Attorneys at Law in downtown Chicopee. She was a longtime communicant of Sainte Rose de Lima Church in Chicopee where she taught Second Grade in the Confraternity of Christian Doctrine Program of the Church. She was a huge Red Sox fan and loved spending many hours with her friends and family playing Scrabble. Jean most especially treasured her time spent with her family and most of all, her cherished grandchildren. Jean leaves her six devoted children, James A. Chouinard and his wife, Christine, of Feeding Hills, Dave C. Chouinard and his wife, Darlene, and Stephen S. Chouinard, all of Chicopee, Diane J. Frogameni and her husband, Philip, of Feeding Hills, Robert E. Chouinard and his wife, Elizabeth, of South Hadley and Michael W. Chouinard and his wife, Alysia, of Feeding Hills; her 12 cherished grandchildren, Joshua Chouinard, Kyle Kadonaga, Sarah Chouinard, Cassidy Kadonaga, Dean Kadonaga, Morgan Chouinard, Sophia Frogameni, Leanna Frogameni, Kathryn Chouinard, Lillian Chouinard, Madelyn Chouinard, and Colton Chouinard; her dear sister in law, Mary Wilson of Lakeland, FL; and her dear niece, many nephews, cousins, friends and extended family members. Her family would like to express their deepest appreciation to Jean’s neighbors, George and Linda, Glen, Mike, and Tabatha for their kindness that they have shown throughout the years. In addition to her parents, she was predeceased by her dear brother, Donald Wilson. She was also predeceased by her loyal and loving pets, her dog, Shadow and her cat, Lucky. Her Funeral will be held on Friday, January 7, 2022 beginning at the St. Pierre – Phaneuf Aldenville Chapels, (413-532-9806), 13 Dale Street, Chicopee, MA 01020, (funeral home will open at 10:30 a.m.), followed by a Mass of Christian Burial at 12 Noon at Sainte Rose de Lima Church, 594 Grattan Street, Chicopee, MA 01020. Her Burial will follow the Mass at Saint Mary Cemetery, 235 North Elm Street, Northampton, MA 01060. Her family will receive friends at the funeral home on Thursday, January 6, 2022 from 4 p.m. to 7 p.m. Masks are required for her services.
