New Bedford – Jose Claudino, age 70 of New Bedford, passed away unexpectedly on Tuesday, December 28, 2021 at Charlton Memorial Hospital. He was the beloved husband of Odete Alves (Iria) Claudino.
Jose was born in St. Michael, Azores, Portugal and was the loved son of Jose daCosta Claudino and Maria daConceicao (Fernandes) Claudino. He had worked in the maintenance department for Nye Lubricants for many years.
Jose was a devoted family man, who loved spending time with his family and especially with his grandchildren, whom he adored. He also enjoyed fishing and landscaping in his free time.
Jose is survived by his loving wife, Odete Claudino; his 2 daughters, Christine Medeiros and Jennifer Claudino and her fiancé Christopher Warren; his son, Michael Claudino and his girlfriend, Tiffany Vilacha; 7 grandchildren, Cameron, Nicholas, Austin, Mason, Noah, Quinn and Levi. He is also survived by his sister, Almerinda Jorge; as well as many nieces and nephews.
He was predeceased by his late siblings, Maria Arruda and Manuel Claudino.
Jose’s visiting hours will be held on Tuesday, January 4, 2022 at Perry Funeral Home from 8:00 A.M. – 10:00 A.M. and followed by a Mass of Christian Burial at Our Lady of Mount Carmel Church at 10:30 A.M. Cremation will follow.
In lieu of flowers, the family kindly asks that a donation be made to the American Cancer Society in Jose’s memory.
