Obituary

Marlborough: Timothy “Tim” Daniel Kane, 62, passed away unexpectedly at his residence in
Marlborough on Monday, December 13th, 2021.
He was born in Norwood, MA, on October 27, 1959, the son of the late John F. Kane and
the late Alfreda M. (Stupak) Kane.
Tim was the beloved and loving husband for 33 years to his best friend Linda M. (Brown)
Kane of Marlborough; He was the cherished father of Christine S. Kane and Daniel M. Kane,
both of Marlborough; the loving brother of Jacqueline Kane Smith of Franklin; Peter Kane of
Norwood; Kevin Kane of Edgartown; the late James Kane and the late Joseph Kane. He was
the son-in-law to Gerry (Aries) Brown of Wayland, his late father-in-law Joseph Brown, and his
wife Sally Brown of Fitchburg; and the sister-in-law to Kelly Brown of Hudson. Tim was a
tremendously fun and caring uncle, greatly loved by his nieces and nephews. He also leaves
behind many cousins and friends, particularly his best friend, Joe McGuiggin, who will truly miss
him, his gentle manner, and his sly sense of humor.
Tim has resided in Marlborough for the past 35 years, He attended Saint Catherine of
Siena catholic elementary school in Norwood, and was a graduate of Catholic Memorial High
School in West Roxbury. For over 25 years he worked for the Polaroid Corporation as a
Chemical processor, where he maintained many close friendships over the years. He had been
with Bristol-Myers-Squibb in Devens in Chemical Processing for the past 5 years.
In his early years Tim enjoyed working with special needs children and teaching them
how to swim in Norwood. He especially loved camping and all outdoors, taking walks and hikes
along area rail trails. He was an avid kayaker, and loved going out of Hingham and Hull to
paddle around the harbor islands. His last kayak trip with his sister Jacqueline and cousin
MaryJane was a beautiful, picturesque and sunny day this past Labor Day, coupled with a
sailboat ride around Boston Harbor and ended with waterfront dining at sunset. It was a perfect
day!
Tim volunteered his time as a CCD instructor at Immaculate Conception Church in
Marlborough. He was a spiritual man and spent his life anchored in his faith in service of others.
Tim loved his family and enjoyed family gatherings. A very recent trip to Martha’s
Vineyard was much enjoyed by him, Linda, Christine and Dan, his sister and brother, nieces and
nephews. A weekend filled with love, laughs, good food, great company, cooing over his
great-nephews, scary movies with his nieces and a wonderful early Thanksgiving Celebration.
A great time was had by all, and this wonderful memory will be cherished forever. Thanks for
washing all the dishes Tim!
Tim will always be remembered for being a very devoted, hard-working and incredibly
loving husband and father. He was a care-taker at heart, a gentle soul and the kindest man you
could ever have met. He loved deeply, fiercely and unconditionally. Words cannot describe the
depth of sorrow felt over this incredible loss, he will be missed forever!
A Memorial Mass and Celebration of Tim’s Life will be held on Friday, January 14, 2022
at 11:00 a.m, at the Immaculate Conception Church, 11 Prospect Street, Marlborough, followed
