CHICOPEE - Robert A. “Bo” Boisvert, 87, passed away peacefully at home on Wednesday, December 29, 2021, with his loving family by his side. Born in Chicopee on June 5, 1934, a son of the late Adrien and Elizabeth (Foze) Boisvert. Bo found early success as a highly skilled bricklayer and stone mason. He leaves a legacy of breathtaking stone creations throughout New England and the United States – as far afield as Hawaii. This work, by his own hand, is a great comfort to his family who can visit these spots and feel close to him. A veteran of the US Marines and the SeaBee Reserves, Bob taught fellow reservists cold weather survival in Alaska; he saw active service in the Gulf War; and he oversaw the Westover AFB CATM Shooting Range for many years. Beyond his 50 year career and service to our country for over 30 years, Bo was a highly-skilled outdoorsman, hunter, and award-winning marksman. His most treasured times were his many hunting adventures in Idaho, Montana, and Kansas and his frequent visits to his camp in Wales, Mass. When not outdoors, Bob excelled at racquetball and at age 80, received a gold medal in the 2014 Senior Olympic Games at Springfield College. He was predeceased by his loving wife, Camille J. (Viens) in 2010 and his son, Christopher R. in 2015. He is survived by his wife, Diane DeAngelis Boisvert, and his daughter, Michelle “Mickey” Boisvert and son-in-law, Tony Aguda, of Bluffton, South Carolina. He also leaves a sister, Julie Rudman and brother-in-law, Max Rudman, of Joplin, Missouri; and his brother, John-Paul “Jack” Boisvert of Chicopee; as well as many cherished cousins, nieces, nephews, and friends around the world. Bob’s appreciation of the quiet simplicity of nature meant that he always took “the road less traveled.” His friends and family will miss him greatly as he travels on his last adventure to heaven without us. A Committal Service with United States Air Force Military Honors will be held on Thursday, January 6 , 2022 at 2 p.m. in the Chapel at the Massachusetts Veterans’ Memorial Cemetery, 1390 Main Street, Agawam, MA 01001. The St. Pierre – Phaneuf Aldenville Chapels, (413-532-9806), 13 Dale Street, Chicopee, MA 01020 is assisting the family. Masks are required for the service. In lieu of flowers, his family requests that memorial donations be made in his memory to the Harmony House of Western MA, P.O. Box 6135, Holyoke, MA 01041-6135.
